Why are black people so quick to claim mixed race people

No I don't.
Black and white were categories created by man to categorize phenotypes. Not genotypes. Lots of people categorized as "black" have more genetic distance between them than some people categorized as "white" and "black".
You need to realize there is no genetic justification for different races. Some people with wildy different genes like Africans and Pacific Islanders can have very similair phenotypes.
I’m tempted to say that it’s because we accept people who culturally identify with us.
I’m anticipating the answer OP may want to hear us b/c we have a collective self-esteem problem and we want to claim anybody with non-blk admixture while other races shun anybody outside of their immediate race.
But I think it’s more complex than that. Mixed people claim blk heritage. And many of us have generations of admixture. Also a lot of biracial people don’t look any different from some blks we grew up with who had two blk parents. So the natural variation in African phenotypes can make it tricky to draw a hard line in the sand sometimes. Also blks are very welcoming people in my experiences.

True. Biracial isn't one of those labels IN AMERICA because we don't have a history of that category here. However, there are other places on earth (like South America) where biracial (aka Mulatoo) is a category.

Not even mixed race people but anybody with some fairytale black ancestry.I don't think any other race of people do this except for black people, so why keep the one drop rule going? I even saw a post on reddit where a guy said his brother who is only 20% black says calls himself a black manI also noticed that other races are allowed to police who is apart of their race or not, but if a black person says that a mixed person is not black they get backlash for this from other backlash

Men and women are different. Women will say all sorts of bullshyt that they will never go through with. They'll say they like dark skin men but be fiending for Chris Brown and Trey Songz. They'll say they want a nice man but be dating bad boys who deal drugs. Its in the nature of women to say one thing but do another. Follow what women do never what they say.
Men on the other hand are pretty straightforward and we more or less go with our natural instincts. The women we find most attractive is based on our biology. For example, if you go to any human society you will see that men are most attracted to women with wide hips (i.e. the classic hourglass figure). Why is that? Cause wide hips are a sign of a wide birth canal. And given how big human infants brains are, a wide birth canal means a greater likelihood the baby survives childbirth. So biologically speaking as men we are driven to find wide hips in a female attractive cause it means that our offspring has a greater chance of surviving childbirth. That's only one example. You can find a biological reason for almost every attribute humans find attractive in the opposite sex.
The media really doesn't have as much of an impact on our sexual desires as people make it out to be. If anything they accentuate our natural desires. They don't change them.
Unfortunately you cannot carry a lot of pride and confidence if you are a downtrodden minority. You are an abused minority so you need more people to gain more strength, hence the claiming of mutts. In Africa they don't claim mixed people as being anything near Black because Black people are the majority so don't have any need to claim mutts.
Black Americans were not given a choice to claim mixed as Black, they were told. The white man made that decision.
