Yall are really comparing the 19 year old 1 and done modern players to the 22 year old 4 year college players of the past. By the time the 1 and dones play 3 years in the league, they are bigger than the college players of the past. MJ and Worthy were both Top 3 picks and they don't look like they are jacked

Compare that to Cade Cunningham who looks bigger.

Cade is a big player. MJ was 195 as a 2. That's still good size to this day especially when you are as quick, explosive and fast as he is.

What the fukk are you taking about?

The average player today is bigger and stronger than they’ve ever been in history. And definitely way bigger than the ‘90s.

This was a superstar in the ‘90s. :mjlol:

Because of the big wing which wasn't a thing in the 80s or 90s but is critical today.

Basketball is all about balance and coordination. To be elite, you gotta have this. The best HS and MS players got this. It's when you get to college and the NBA, you see guys making it without this because they meet that levels, prerequisites for said position

Football - Body type and pure athleticism

Baseball - Natural feel, hand-eye coordination, and ability to pick up skill.

Reggie was known for being a skinny pest when he was in the league. Jordan had to bulk up to play the Pistons. Most of the 90s stars had some weight or muscle to them. Very few stick figures like Reggie and Manute
Some players play thiccer than they actually are. AD was a stick in college but didn’t ever really get pushed around much. But most of the time that isn’t the case

I don't see a difference like that. Young players always been for the most part skinnier, then got bigger later. Look at Pippen, Kobe, KG, Penny, Dwight, TMac....

It's just now you got way more coming into the league at 19-20 than the former norm of 21-22

And the country thick chested nikkas like Charles Oakley and Antonio Davis who probably also worked in warehouses, chopped trees, wrestled and played football while in highschool are a thing of the past

The average NBA weight is around 220 pounds and has been for decades. Players were noticeably lighter on average before the mid 90's though.

Everything else is conjecture.

However, I can almost guarantee you that because of modern nutrition, exercise science, etc that the average player is in better shape and more athletic than in past eras.

Because being slow and plodding doesn’t benefit you in today’s game like it did back in the day.

Reggie was always considered a string bean.

He wasn’t the norm
Dudes were just overall thicker back then. Pause.

Same way alot of our fathers and grandfathers are bigger
