As a former football breh I low key don't like them lil scrawny basketball cats, soft and arrogant if you ask me.

But to answer your question the game is way less physical now then its was in the 80s/90s so there's no need to be overly muscular is the most simple explanation

Most of them grew like 10-14 inches in height in a very very short period of time. In order to go from this:

You need to eat A LOT, and have a disciplined and professional training process…and these kids don’t and shouldnt. Its the same reason college football rbs go from this

Basketball players are physical freaks. These fools be 6'4 and up with long arms and limbs.

I see plenty brolic looking football players at the gym who are 5'8

Basketball doesn’t require brute strength

I mean yeah you got AD, Gianni, LeBron and cats like that. But you need skill, finesse, quickness and lateral movement more. Not saying you don’t need strength cuz you absolutely do.

You understand that basketball is an aerobic activity.

These guys are active and burning calories. It isn’t easy to gain mass while practicing and training.

And not only that, having lots of muscle mass isn’t all that necessary to compete at a high level. Sure. It matters. It helps. But there are diminishing returns.

It makes more sense in sports where explosive movement is paramount. Like football.

The argument that basketball players of the past were more jacked is probably not true. Part of it is that people tend to remember the outliers. While you can’t find specifics I’m sure you can find average heights and weights and I doubt guys back then were much heavier (not that weight equals strength but what other metric would you find?)

What the fukk are you taking about?

The average player today is bigger and stronger than they’ve ever been in history. And definitely way bigger than the ‘90s.

This was a superstar in the ‘90s. :mjlol:
