Why Arabs born in N.Africa don't consider themselves Africans?

The n African Arabs I know do consider themselves African, French montana always claims to be African.

i met plenty of mageribi arabs who call themselves African. They label arab as their culture.
Just like you and your family are not Americans..You are African from Africa.

reality is what you make it, africa isnt even an "african" word, africa is roman word for north africa, if you want to get technical, we, meaning black people, shouldnt even call ourselves african
Arab is an ethnicity. You've got some people in that ethnic group who don't want to be identified with Africa as a continent, or with Black people, and some that do. For the ones that don't, there's usually a racial problem (whiter Arabs or Black Arabs that want to dissociate themselves from Blackness,) sometimes a cultural problem (Arab as cosmopolitan/foreign vs native/primitive African culture.)
