someone in another thread brought up the fact that Disney forced marvel to bring tv content and i think its the whole disney merger that fukked the whole MCU up

once they became owned by a large corporate giant, the pandering went full tilt and more marketing dollars are at play now

Marvel now produces shyt for Disney cruiselines, theme parks, resorts, merch stores and museums (they opened one up here in Toronto last year) and the list goes on. The movies will continue to be rushed, over-produced with little-to no thought because really only had the russo bros and Jon Watts pre-2022 but now only hire the likes of Chloe Zhao or Taika :francis:
They been onwed by Disney since like Ironman 2. Yeah they always been in the blockbuster movie business and leading pop culture lane. This was never some art house shyt. What are you talking about?

It's been meh for a few reasons. One, I think Feige is stretched too thin. Two, they have the political capital to burn, so they're trying some different things. Using that political capital to find those directors and screenwriters to add something fresh to the MCU. Three, the movies are no different than phases 1-3. So the formula isn't new anymore. Four, they're down a creative. James Gunn was supposed to be more heavily involved with the MCU. We know what went down.

I think they got the memo loud and clear with Phase 4. It's been meh. Hopefully they read the memo. So far people who have seen Werewolf by Night say that it's pretty good. So maybe they found another good director with Michael Giacchino. Which was the same thing with the Russo Brothers, because everyone was like, "So the guys from Community are directing Captain America?" And look at what they did. I'm willing to give them a chance. But if Phase 5 is meh, I won't be going to the theaters to see this stuff, and just wait for the movies to drop on D+.

Before you blow a gasket on me about MCU minor facts again :hubie: , Im sayin I made a mistake and meant the need for tv show media NOT the merger

the need for tv shows is probably is what is fukkin with the quality is my point (which is what YOU mentioned in another thread)

Their Disney+ shows, while entertaining, is watering their brand. MCU movies no longer feels like a 'must watch' because we are oversaturated with their product with all these shows on top of being mid for the most part.
theres a lot of content in such a short span of time. So even if you miss a show or two, there's like 2-3 films coming out in a span of 6 months

I kinda agree with this. I still catch the movies outta habit, but I’ve only seen an episode of Moon Knight, and skipped Ms. Marvel entirely, where I’ve seen everything else in the universe, except BW.

Just too much content for me, but that’s their vision rn (and probably moving forward) so :yeshrug:

i'd be surprised if they weren't tryna get Tom Holland/RDJ/Evans for the Avengers movies.

u expect Cap marvel and She Hulk to carry those films? :russ:

Holland couldn't even carry his own movie. They had to bring in the old crew to prop him up

RDJ would demand like $50 million so Marvel is probably like forget that.

And Evans already said the breh is the new Captain America because the cacs didn't want to accept it :mjpls:

But that's why they're bringing in everyone like the Hulk, She Hulk, the leader, and they might bring in Wong etc...because Mackie wasn't that strong even on his own show. :francis:

When Doctor Strange and Thor are your new MJ/Pippen... i mean :patrice: that's why the Sony characters and FOX characters are now useful. Say what you want but all those characters are more popular than the Phase 4 crew

The easy answer is their arrogance. They go into every movie/show like this now:smugfavre:

She-Hulk and Thor 4 knew they were a$$ and didn't give a shyt. Plus their unwillingness to push violence like Blade and Punisher has put an imaginary ceiling on what they can actually accomplish. By doing that and catering, compelling and edgy storylines take a backseat or get shelved altogether until they "figure out how to use them". So they get "cute" to stay in good graces. Not to mention the fight coordination is godawful (Hawkeye, She-Hulk) due to not pushing limits. The John Wick director being turned down for Blade is all you need to know.

You'll never see a Disney trailer like this. EVER.

Nevermind the fact it's staring you in the damn face and Wesley showed you what do do damn near 25 years ago. Sextapes and promiscuous behavior thumbs up, slitting throats no can do gotta think about the kids. Not one parent will buy 1 less Disneyworld ticket if Frank Castle is rated R. Prolly got a bullshyt focus study group up there who "ran numbers" on how many soccer moms would cancel Disney if they had a true rated R flick for Marvel. They can do this, they think with Deadpool since it's "not real" in a sense like Punisher or Blade.

The answer is easy. Give Blade and Punisher lower budgets than a standard green screen flick. Especially Punisher.

Not every story is the end of the world or the apocalypse (pun intended). Daredevil was successful primarily because it happened during regular 9-5 work, not in spite of it. It looks like they've gotten the hint, because this last 2 years with a few exceptions has been azz.
