The thing about Whoopi is, I saw her direct from broaway before I saw her movies, she was purposely making herself look haggard, for the character.

While she's not your standard beauty, she has black features that are beautiful in and of themselves yet those are the very features that people used to paint her as some kinda hidious looking person. When in her natural element she look like most of our mothers, aunts. minus eyebrows, which I just noticed.

I think Jumpin' Jack Flash (my mom's favorite Whoopi movie) was the only time I looked at her and thought “she ain't so bad” especially during that scene with her in the blue dress that I kinda got aroused .

I don’t find her remotely attractive, but most people knew her from The Color Purple, in which she played a character who was constantly told she was ugly. Soooo, they had to cast someone who kinda looked…ugly.
