These dudes still don’t understand, we are the Gold fukking standard. We don’t have to play in a stupid World Cup tournament to have our best in the world status. We are the GOLD STANDARD, our guys (who are the best in the world at ball) only give a fukk about the OLYMPICS. But these dudes don’t know a goddamn thing about ball so they’ll keep perpetuating dumb shyt.

If we're the gold standard then it's definitely a problem that all of our best players are past their prime and the coach needed to be rescued by Steph again. The next generation of US players isn't the hill you wanna die on for this statement. We saw what they looked like when Bron and Steph and KD were at home.

Cool, when the time comes let's see if they can prove it. Until then....

I mean it wasn’t just Bron, Steph and KD that were at home

If you added AD, Bam, Embiid, Booker, Tatum & Jrue to that roster instead of Jaren Jackson, Bobby Portis, Walker Kessler, Josh Hart, Cam Johnson & Austin Reaves you think the World Cup goes the same?

Even regarding the next generation, which country collectively has better talent under 25 than America? Hell our U-17 team just won the World Cup and didn’t win a single game by less than 33 points

We are still the gold standard under proven otherwise

It's not about being the gold standard. The fact is the nba is a NATIONAL league. No national league can ever be a world champion. The world champion is a title thats given to the team who wins when countries around the world competes for a title. You literally have to be a fukking idiot not to understand this. Everyone already knows the nba has the best players in the world and the best teams are in the nba. That's not the fukking point.
The only people arguing this semantics shyt are euro cacs and kikes. Which are you?

This is a foolish argument. You’re running with a limited definition that is beneficial to some athletes and disrespectful to others. You’re equating being a national team champion to world champion when that’s not the case. You can be a world champion because you play on the best team/club or a world champion because you have the best national team. Someone like Lyles has to compete in tournaments all over the world because there’s no American domestic league that all of the best track stars run in it every week.

Someone like Floyd Mayweather never had to leave the USA to fight the best in the world. Who is the world boxing champion- the Olympic champion or the WBC champion, or both? See how dumb that sounds when you say it out loud.

No one confuses being the best team - whoever wins the MLB with being the best national team - whoever wins the world baseball classic. Your problem is you’re stuck in a semantics based, single definition argument and not one based on substance or reality.
