Whoa.....so 5 MILLION people watching a show is not enough to keep it on-air?

Yeah man every network has a different standard and threshold. CW isn't as big as the other major networks so their standards are different. Like Arrow and Flash are hit shows but if either one of them were on CBS it'd be an issue.

What's crazy is when the CW was the WB (they later combined with UPN) they used to get triple those ratings. If Arrow/Flash came out 10+ years ago the average ratings would be in the 7 millions.

Didn't combine with UPN as much as they dissolved it breh. CW is CBS and Warner Bros and they couldn't come up with a more creative name than the CW which always confused me. I guess it doesn't matter because the name stuck but it's kinda lame. UPN was paramount but they got out of the TV game broadcast wise and focused purely on production. And you're right, the ratings would be crazy then. TV is just segregated now so unless you're football or the Big Bang Theory, it's hard to do big big numbers

You can say that about every TV show on the broadcast networks. TV ratings were higher across the board in the 2000's compared to now.

How the fukk do they know what ages the people watching the show are. No one has those fukking nielson rating boxes in their living rooms, let alone logs in their age when they watch a show.

I remember they used to send something in the mail to track viewers, I believe. These days there's are so many different ratings, it's hard to tell. Broken up by age group, live or dvr, whether it's 1 day after to a week after. I used to dvr the entire season and just binge watch, if it was a show that I knew had no purpose watching weekly like a sitcom. Ratings are confusing, there has to be some other factors at play also.
