Russo didn’t respect the art of wrestling. He thought it was all a big joke and should be all Jerry Springer-type fukkery.

You can tell through his work that he was a growth-stunted peverted adolescent boy who got no p*ssy and had no friends.
the funny thing he also had a hand in the creation of the brawl for all tournament which is prolly his biggest blunder in the wwe which im sure viceland will touch upon next week llol

Herd era. Man wasn’t a wrestling guy and it showed

WCW under Russo is a goldmine of unintentional comedy. I watched that company until the day it ended and I still in 2020 stumble over Russo fukkery that I didn’t remember happening because it was so abundant

you coulda taken anyone from prime WWE or WCW’s 1998 roster and none of them would’ve drawn in that Jim Herd era.

there’s a reason WWE started with 1992 when it started uploading WCW Saturday nights and why the years 1990 and 1991 are slim pickings on the network

Breh. You ain't lying about the Russo era being super deep for fukkery.

Most companies have maybe one or two ridiculous storylines going at once. The crazy thing about ECW is that so much of it was happening at the SAME TIME :dwillhuh:

I was watching old Nitro episodes years ago, and was surprised by the Oklahoma and Tank Abbott/Three Count storylines because I had simply forgotten about them. How!?

Russo could not develop long term plots. He could only come up with ridiculous angles, most of which sucked, that went nowhere and led to nothing. Then he just came up with the next shock angle...repeat. There was no cohesive vision. shyt was just scatterbrained.

It didn't get the name Saturday Night until 1992. They have the show in that time slot going back to Mid Atlantic in 1981 through mid 1989. No argument on 1990/1991 stuff being slim pickings but it's probably not because they suck since they didn't even finish 1989, which is considered one of the strongest years in JCP/WCW history. There's a lot of weird shyt like that in the back catalogue and there's no rhyme or reason. It took them 6 years to get all of Thunders up, and certainly if quality of shows being the reason they wouldn't upload something, then 70% of all the content uploaded wouldn't be.

Russo said if goldberg cant beat his original streak hell never get another title shot
Then they tried to say he had some crazy amount of wins in only a couple.of months which made no sense even if house shows were included

:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

The only good thing that came out of that era was scott steiner

Russo had some horrible moments, but he’s one of the few people that actually gave young stars a chance in WCW. A lot of people got the opportunity to run with the ball that would have never gotten a shot otherwise.

Yea that’s his biggest calling card, basically making sure everybody had something to do no matter where you were on the card.
