Who was the funniest comedian at their peak? Martin Lawrence, Chris Rock or Dave Chapelle?

I torn between Rock and Chappelle. Chappelle's prime arguably has been 18 damn years, because when he disappeared in 04 he was in his prime.

But Bring the Pain was philosophy for life my teenage-ass growing up.

I voted Chappelle because he just has more consistently funny material.

For me, I got Martin for peak TV/film comedian, and Dave for peak standup

Martin at his best was legendary..Chris Rock by 04 was hilarious and the Chapelle Show is pure genius.

Chappelle's Show was a phenomenon. It was bigger and funnier than anything Rock did although Bring The Pain was big.

I also think Rock's stand up has gotten worse over the years whereas Chappelle has evolved and even got better.

Martin doesn't belong in the same category imo, average stand up and makes corny movies. I'd compare Louis CK, Patrice and others instead of Martin.

can't front, was barely alive for Martin's run but Dave at his peak was running TV. His show put CC on the map, and Dave's comedic style is the one that's most clearly been influential in most modern comedians.
