Russ problem is he never developed any game

He has no floater, no jumper or touch on his shots. He doesn’t really even have good handles

He just has the little post up and back down smaller guards and score in the paint. Other than that it’s purely face up game, try to bulldoze to the basket or look for an assist

He has a go-to pullup jumper at the elbow that's usually very consistent. That's about it. Dude was too athletic in his prime to even consider developing game beyond that. Now that he's slowing down just a tad bit it's coming back to bite him, I agree.
