i used the microsoft band since its launch, up until the band 2 came out. they are both amazing with all the sensors. the 2 even measures UV exposure and galvanic skin something something

BUT the battery life on both is complete ass. plus...as good as the microsoft health app is, it's temperamental syncing with myfitnesspal. and it doesnt support a hell of a whole lot of other shyt. plus...i feel like none of these companies even really care about MS in the mobile arena

so later today im copping the garmin vivoactive hr. running, walking, and hiking are really the only things i do so...i really want my shyt to sync directly to mfp faithfully and not just sometimes. plus its linked to almost 30 satellites so its perfect for hiking. the ms joints not so much

ill give some impressions on the garmin in a couple weeks if anyone is interested.

also fyi samsung just announced the gear fit 2. it looks like the MS band...

I am interested in getting a fitbit. How does it work? How has it changed your life?

Does it get annoying on your wrist? :lupe:

I wear a metal watch. I don't like rubber or whatever that material is.
So it counts your steps? Is the price worth it?

Speak on it brehs and brehettes.

Fitbit's are cool but straight up, if someone invites you to a challenge, deny it, those challenges are a haven for haters.

The first challenge I did, I was killing everyone! I got accused of cheating, really brought down the vibe.

I just won another challenge and a girl got mad because I was " stalking peoples steps" translation inspired ( which is what these challenges are suppose to do) and won. It's disgusting

Just recently started using a fitbit. The basic one that has just steps and sleep. It syncs to the phone. It's the flex version. I track the food in my fitness pal but i get lazy with it sometimes. I think the tracker is great tho. Makes you more motivated to meet your steps goal and stay fit. Also love the sleep feature. As far as the food f tracking, I'm somewhat consistent with it but I don't really look too deep into it like the macros and all that. Still good to track your fitness these days. I know android has a steps counter on the phone. Don't know about Apple.

Ive used polar heart rate monitors for working out for nearly 10 years. It helps you to a T, especially if you are trying to lose weight.

I have a fitbit flex just to track steps. And for me, the friend feature is kinda nice because it does help to motivate and compete with others.

But I also have a Polar H7, which is just your basic heart rate sensor and I have the Polar app for my phone. Basically use it for my runs/hikes/walks (there's a lot of hills in my town) and it's AWESOME.
Way more accurate than a fitbit for me.

I think the fitbit is great because getting to 10k steps (no matter if there's a slight margin of error) is a great goal and that alone will help a lot of people.
But for people who want to track calories burned...a heart rate monitor is unbeatable.

The sleep and heart rate monitors have been game changers for me.

Only thing I did recommend right now is an H7 heart monitor
Polar-H7-Bosch-Nyon-Heart-Rate-Strap-92053178.jpg
and the polar beat program which is free. You can set a quick goal like 200 calories or 10 minutes. Or if you want to walk or run a Mile you can set that and GPS on your phone will let you know. I'm not one of those dudes who tries with their phone. I have a polar watch and honestly up it broke or got stolen or lost I wouldn't look to replace it.

Just copped off the strength of your posts. I was looking at a fitbit but I already have an apple watch. I don't like it as a fitness tracker so I'll give this a shot.
