I remember hot97 playing the song on the radio shortly after Pac got shot. I was 15 years old and there was no Google. While listening to the song, I thought it was about Pac. I didn't have any ties to Bad Boy or Tupac or any industry insider connections. I was just a 15 year old listening to it and my jaw dropped cuz I truly thought it was about Pac.

It doesn't matter if the song was not intentionally written to be about Pac, the phuking timing of its release had the entire NYC thinking it was about Pac. A lot of you muphukas is exposing yourselves in this thread. Because people who were around at the time definitely thought it was about Pac.

Example: I write a song called "Throw you off the Roof" a few months later a fellow song-writer friend gets thrown off a roof. I had nothing to do with it but I a few weeks later I release the song. Does it matter if I didn't initially write the song about him?

:stopitslime:

What type of songs Biggie was supposed to be putting out after Pac got shot? Damn near all his songs references shooting and robbing. Y'all want him to stop putting out those type of songs cause somebody he knew was shot?

On Angie Martinez Iconic Records podcast the dude from Junior Mafia (Klepto I think) said the LL record was him throwing a shot a big. He said when Big was recording Who Shot Ya, LL was actually in the studio with Puff at the time of the recording and that when Big said "old school, new school need to learn though" he was looking right at L like he was throwing a shot at LL which lead to the LL record.
That’s crazy when you think about it becuz the beats are actually kinda similar

I don't know why this is surprising to people when it's widely known now (and known nearly 10 years ago if you followed Karceno's truth behind videos) that Pac didn't fucc with Snoop at all by the time of his death (for which over the past year or so Snoop has started to admit to) and that he didn't fucc with Daz anymore neither. It's not a coincidence Daz is all over All Eyez On Me but is nowhere to be seen on Makaveli and only the Outlawz and Bad Azz appear on Makaveli.

He stopped hanging with the Crips at Death Row by the time of his death for one reason or another and was fully MOB

Plus, let's be honest with ourselves...Snoop's got snake traits and is only out for delf when it comes to it...just like Dre.

I've been calling it the GOAT album for 2 decades.
Album is a masterpiece..... The best Wu solo although I had Liquid Swords in HEAVY rotation for a minute as well. OBFCL is just on a level few albums will touch, the production was flawless and the overall theme of the album fit it well. There is a reason why "The Purple" tape is mentioned a lot of times when mentioning the best albums.

If I made a track that was as hard as Who Shot Ya I am going to drop that regardless. I am not gonna not drop that classic record just because PAC got shot. Period.

nikkas have really weird expectations when it comes to Tupac... they really do believe a nikka who made songs like "Gimme The Loot" and "Warning" was supposed to pull back something he'd already recorded because his homeboy who got shot might decide to think THAT one was about him... de-lu-lu! :pachaha:

The thing about this tho'... 29 years later... is that we ain't kids sittin' by the radio anymore, not having any knowledge about what REALLY happened. nikkas have discussed this 5000 times over with actual facts to prove this shyt existed before the shooting. Why is anybody in 2023 still going with what they THOUGHT as teenagers when the truth behind the song has been out there? If we applied this way of thought to everything, we'd be some dumb, undereducated 40+ year old MFs, just sticking to everything we believed in 9th grade because that's what we "thought" back then. :heh:
