I never believe anyone from that camp. It is well known that Biggie was HABITUALLY throw subliminal shots at rappers. All the time. We can say the Who Shot Ya beat predated the 2pac shooting. But not when Biggie got hold to it. That beat was originally for Keith Murray.
Omg, this dumb sh1t.

No...you fuccin idiot. The beat was originally meant for MARY J BLIGE and both biggie and keith rapped on it. LL was there when they were recording it and dipped out when he heard BIG's verse on some fucc that I'm not letting myself get washed on a track...keith didn't give a fucc and got off his verse anyway. After Puff and em heard it they felt it was too hard to go on Mary's album it being an RNB album and they took keith off and it became a solo BIG song.

The end.

Someone once posted the studio session sheet for Who Shot Ya which showed the date it was recorded. Wish someone could find that post or pic.

Tell them to point out the lines that were about Pac if the song was really about him.

They gotta deflect blame to Bad Boy to hide from the fact that their hero was the antagonist.
why point out the lyrics when we can point out the timing of its release :yeshrug:

i was always curious when it was recorded. if Who Shot Ya made RTD, i'd probably have it over Cuban Linx as the GOAT album :wow:
The beat was for keith murray. it was recorded after RTD. Big jumped on it then he stole the beat. Thats why the keith joint on mary's album is only an interlude.

And i have it on tape waaaay before Pac got shot. Stretch and Bobbito played it when it was only 1 verse.. and he says fukking with Biggie Smalls it aint safe, the official version says BIG

Exactly. And at the end of his verse he says something like: "Representing the queen, her royal highness"

I remember hot97 playing the song on the radio shortly after Pac got shot. I was 15 years old and there was no Google. While listening to the song, I thought it was about Pac. I didn't have any ties to Bad Boy or Tupac or any industry insider connections. I was just a 15 year old listening to it and my jaw dropped cuz I truly thought it was about Pac.

It doesn't matter if the song was not intentionally written to be about Pac, the phuking timing of its release had the entire NYC thinking it was about Pac. A lot of you muphukas is exposing yourselves in this thread. Because people who were around at the time definitely thought it was about Pac.

Example: I write a song called "Throw you off the Roof" a few months later a fellow song-writer friend gets thrown off a roof. I had nothing to do with it but I a few weeks later I release the song. Does it matter if I didn't initially write the song about him?

Alot of artist associated with Puff was talking to 2pac on certain tracks. Between Who Shot Ya, LL's I Shot Ya, Mobb Deep's Shook One's.

Puff was like LL manager at the time. Mobb Deep had been his lil interns.
On Angie Martinez Iconic Records podcast the dude from Junior Mafia (Klepto I think) said the LL record was him throwing a shot a big. He said when Big was recording Who Shot Ya, LL was actually in the studio with Puff at the time of the recording and that when Big said "old school, new school need to learn though" he was looking right at L like he was throwing a shot at LL which lead to the LL record.
