Paula's problem was that she changed her sound. Should have kept that whole sound from the Forever your girl era. Then you decide to come out with Rush rush when u know you don't have the vocals

Janet and Paula were rivals for a very short stint. Media tried to hype that shyt up just because she choreographed a couple of Janet's videos. Paula's music was trash though. None of the women mentioned in this thread are seeing Vanessa William's on some total package shyt though besides Whitney. Vastly talented she is.

huge vanessa williams fan. Her comfort zone album is one of my favorite albums. I also liked the album before with with dreaming and the right stuff. But besides that, she hasn't done much.

It's hard to put shyt in perspective while it's happening. People who are 20 probably go on youtube and say "this was my favorite song when I was a baby" about Rihanna songs and her new shyt will also be their favorite in their 20s. Like I used to say about Do you remember the time and songs like that.

She was never even close to where Rihanna was/is. But she had a nice like 3 year run. Rihanna has been a top tier star for a decade strong.

back in the day, there was always a large influx of talent coming in, as opposed to the past 10-15 years where its basically been the same ol chit being pushed.

thats one of the main reasons why the newer stars don't stick like that.

and the latter argument doesn't work in your favor either, seeing how we're now at the point where theres adults who were babies when rihanna hit the scene.

Janet changed her good girl image and had that Mexican covering her t*ts 2 years later after Paulas 2nd album and was still killing it but Paula was still OG status by that time. Paula just fell off by her 3rd album...Wasnt no Janet knocking nothing. Only thing that knocked Paula off was her not being able to make hits anymore. Atleast she had the smarts to bow out gracefully. That 3rd album was her musical funeral and Janet had nothing to do with it. And If we talking total package Sade destroys Vanessa all day everyday.

Sade doesn't do any acting, I'm talking about multiple threat skillsets.
Paula didn't have the pedigree Janet had, she was always going to x'd out simply due to the fact there was more you could do with Janet stylistically. Trying to make them rivals only sped up the process.
