He is the only person I have ever seen say Danny is an underachiever. Like bruh Danny should make the hall of fame just off overcoming how mediocre he is, but @patscorpio thinks he is an underachieve. :heh:
He didn't beat nobody to give him that overachiever tag outside of lucas. Using Khan as an example of that is silly :heh:

Facts. Spence beat that mans ass with a jab. That's it, he didn't have to do anything but jab his ass up for 12 rounds. Why? Because Danny has no jab and he doesn't have the footwork or head movement to get out the way of it.

The fact Danny is a 2 division champ and was unified in a 140 division that at the time was pretty stacked top to bottom with talent is actually surprising to me. As much as we may shyt on Crawford's 140 run, Crawford probably would have Viktor Postol'ed Danny's ass for 12 rounds and beat him the same way.
Danny would've :dead:crawford at 140:mjtf:

I damn near picked against Danny every time he fought because I thought so low of him as a fighter. Over time, i started to respect him and realized that he is better than I thought he was. Win or lose, he typically holds his own with anyone.

It’s fair to say Danny beat who he was suppose to beat and lost to who he was suppose to lose to.

AB’s highs are higher??? He doesn’t have anything close to a Matthyse or Khan on his resume. His biggest wins are debatables with Paulie, Ponce De Leon or Granados.

I don’t even see how this is debatable. Broner is more popular becuz of his antics but Danny has clearly had the better career.
You're right.

In my mind AB was more of a household name at his zenith, the Maidana loss comes to mind primarily. That felt like he was about to take over the game at that moment (clearly he didn't.)

I guess i was saying it in that context. As in, Broner was a bigger drawcard/prizefighter in the publics eye, at his peak.

Me too.

His fundamentals are mainly sound, simple and plain. They've got him through a lot of matchups where he's not as talented, but more durable and mechanically proficient.

Given how slow and cement footed Danny was he had no business beating Khan bro. Lol
He was brought in to be an opponent for Khan. Khan was suppose to win that fight.

I don’t even know why anyone goes back and forth with @patscorpio when it comes to the topics of Leonard Ellerbe, Danny Garcia, and Miguel Cotto. He hates these guys so much that you can’t have an objective conversation.

Danny was a 7-1 underdog against Khan and Khan looked well on his way to beating him with his speed until Danny just starting closing his eyes and landing hooks.

I was in Vegas for a bachelor's party and left the group to randomly go to that fight. I really wanted to see Khan but when I realized Danny was from Philly I was repping him. I was absolutely stunned at the result.

Yeah people seem to be judging Khan based on how his career turned out as opposed to the perception of him at that time. Khan came to 140 and quickly unified. He was suppose to be fighting Peterson in a rematch. Danny was basically a last minute , hand picked, replacement that Khan was supposed to beat. As you stated, he basically was beating his ass the entire fight until Garcia adjusted to his speed.

In hindsight, it’s such an awful fight for Khan. He doesn’t have the chin to beat Danny.

The fact that this is even a thread is weird. Danny has been consistently solid his whole career. The consensus is Broner’s career was basically on the downside after the Maidana fight. That fight was nearly 10 years ago.

So Broner has been lackluster for a WHOLE decade, but yet questioning if he’s had a better career then Danny Garcia? What exactly am I missing here?
