Maybe I'm not up on my George Washington history as much as I should be. It always bothered me that he didn't free his slaves until after he died (it acknowledges that he understood slavery to be wrong, so why not release them while he was alive and not only that but fight to get rid of the practice entirely). And I didn't realize he carried out ethnic cleansing, but that would make sense.
I was about to list a number of reasons why most scholars consider him the best President we ever have, but I have feeling it would be a waste of time. You make solid points.
