There’s more to the story than just this..WWE actually released The Rock in 2005 and Rock took it personally for a few years and that’s when he stopped being introduced as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. So both sides played a part. Rock wanted to show the E that he could become a big Hollywood act even without the E backing him and the E wanted Rock to flop.

anything that came after the OG brand extension, was all about the logo. only name vince breaks his back for after that is brock lesnar.

cena was just a favored cog in the machine. as someone who is 3 decades deep into this, the whole idea of ranking cena in with Hogan/rock/Austin is silly to me.
