Santana has some good shyt too. Jimi is one of my faves though. And honestly John Mayer is brilliant(some of the shyt he plays and sings at the same time:dwillhuh:)even though I'll probably get some hate. Bb King(rip:mjcry:) too.

John Mayer is one of the greatest musicians of our lifetime :yeshrug:

Yeah I said it :pacspit:

Jimi ain't better than Bob.

Only reason why Robert Johnson was so good was because he sold his soul to the devil and he had them long ass mutant fingers, so in my book there's an asterisk next to his name :manny:

yeah, breh. Robert Johnson-

There wouldn't be any of this music shyt we talk about on this board without Robert Johnson.

Robert Johnson is like the Joshua Gibson of music

Robert Johnson gets way too much credit. So many blues artists influenced what music is today

I didn't push play on this when you posted it, but for real it put me in my feels.

Imagine if Jimi had started in an era like today, where cats would be on your nuts for posting youtube videos and it wasn't about labels pushing what they thought was "talent".

Imagine him playing and nikkas geeking cause he was playing his shyt upside down.

I was looking at Steve Vai vids cause @micha3lang3l brought him up (rightfully so), dude got 20 million views on For The Love of God, but ask a non musically inclined person who he is. I remember going to a Staind concert and folks wilding out cause Mike Mushok went into Flight of the Bumblebee during his guitar solo.

Imagine if Hendrix would've just wilded out on Youtube when he battled Clapton.

You're right. A non musically inclined person would have no idea who Vai is. If someone had posted the battle on Youtube it's a great chance Clapton career wouldn't be what it was outside of the yard birds and cream cause these days people are fickle and do the most. And I love Eric (especially riding with the king. I'm from MS so BB is the man and I'm a little bias) If Jimi was around now there would probably be more black Rock musicians because of youtube. Other than William Duvalle I can't think of any.

I was told stories how people were in the 80s trying to play lead cause of Eddie van Halen. That would probably be the case now.

@noumena rick came from blues so it's not possible to say Robert Johnson got to much credit. Have you ever heard any of his records? Believe it or not some blues and jazz notes are extremely difficult to play.
