I gotta go with Penny Hardaway. I know he gets a lot of hate on here but he was the first nba star that I really liked. He is the reason I am still an Orlando Magic fan to this day.

i dont consider anyone drafted after '94 to be '90s players.....unless they didnt last long in the league, of course. but just about every star drafted after '94, is more synonymous with 2000s basketball.

with that said:
1. shawn kemp
2. scottie pippen
3. penny hardaway
4. grant hill
5. chris webber
6. gary payton
7. jalen rose(i'd actually put rose at #4 in 2013:king:)
8. kerry kittles - amnesty pick. sure, he wasnt drafted til '95 but i dont think he was relevant long enough in the '00s to be considered a 2000s player
9. alonzo mourning
10. latrell spreewell
honorable mention: juwan howard, mashburn, tim hardaway, kendall gill, larry johnson & BOBBY HURLEY
thats just off-top. im prolly forgetting a couple.

michael jordan was my initial favorite player of course. he was the first thing i knew about basketball. when he came back outta retirement, i wasnt into him anymore, and he always came off as selfish.

Ya'll can say Kobe and Jordan but dont flood the thread with them :comeon:

Glen Rice is my first mention and better than Reggie Miller. Here you got two players here who were almost identical in their approach to the game. Coming off the screen, catching and shooting, off the dribble, pound for pound to me Glen Rice is a better player than Reggie Miller but he never gets as much acclaim. Maybe Reggie was just more clutch and in the spotlight for his antics I dunno. Gimme Glen Rice on the Hornets though in NBA Courtside and its a wrap :wow:. Such a clean game, he would shoot without a thought.

Glen Rice (56pts) vs. Magic (1995) - YouTube

I was also big on Shawn Kemp, Payton, Webber and Penny like everyone. Even Sabonis. For some reason I liked Scottie more than Jordan too :manny:.

1. David Robinson-I was a military brat and I idolized his game.He was a good guy to look up to on and off the court. The Spurs were my second favorite team behind the Kings of course till he retired. I'm still smarting being picked over to get his autograph after a game at Arco :damn:

2. Shawn Kemp- After that 1991 playoff game against the Warriors where he torched them with his array of dunks :whoo:

3. Mitch Richmond-Class act and great shooter. Don't get much credit as he should though cause he played on a lot of bad Kings teams.

4. Damon Stoudamire- My all-time favorite player under six feet tall. He carried the Raptors on his back.

5. Penny Hardaway- He was like the Ken Griffey of basketball to me and a lot of my friends growing up cause his game looked effortless and he was having fun out there like a kid sometimes.

He was my 2nd favorite player after Hakeem up until The Dream got hurt:ufdup:

Once Hakeem started getting slowed down due to injuries, the 1998 season, I really started focusing more and more on my young Lakers and specifically Kobe Bryant over Shaq.

I was already a heavy Lakers fan, with Kobe my favorite on the team as a straight out of HS rookie, but Kobe was also beasting in 98 off the bench and was a monster on NBA Live 98 and NBA Shootaround 98 as well ( I was only 14 at the time:manny: ).

By the time The Dream got back healthy as he could, it was too late, bc I was all in for the 99 season with my boy Kobe as my favorite player..
