I went with TV shows only, but Ichigo/Luffy are just modern versions of Goku so I don't think rehashes should be on the Rushmore. Naruto is the Netflix of Anime aka everyone has watched it, and at worst it's a shonen aka Sasuke/Naruto get the random powerups and ignorantly punching above their weight, but at best you have characters like Itachi/Kakashi/Pain/Jiriaya that flesh out the rest of the world in a real ass way. Sailor Moon is the OG low key pick. Don't sleep. Cowboy Bebop is the first "adult" anime that became popularized.
