Nikka what?

JR>>RJ easily from a talent perspective.

If JR were allowed to play 36 minutes and take 18 shots a night he’d easily out produce RJ. There’s a huge gap in skill and athleticism. Thing is no team in that era of the NBA would let a gunner like JR do that. JR was a bone head on both ends whether it be bad shot selection or bad fouls or gambles. Plus he had issues in the locker room and off the court that contributed to a stigma that held him back.
Look up JR’s stat’s his 4th season in the league.

:sas1:

Also, who is letting RJ take 18 shots a game. I already said he could be a sixth man.

:sas2:

The problem is Thibs. Every damn issues leads to Thibs. We go around the carousel blaming players when it’s on Thibs.

I'd actually take JR over RJ. I think a prime JR with a green light would put up some big numbers nowadays; gotta remember that the shots he took back then that were considered "dumb" are pretty normal now.

But even discounting that last hypothetical, I'd still take JR.
RJ isn’t in his prime. He a 4th season player who on the low 1st season was about 35 games. The fact he can be compared to peak JR at this point is why you don’t trade him.

The FO needs to make that RJ for OG trade, at this point I'd much rather see IQ start over RJ.
The issue with that is both injuries, and scoring. You’re basically putting the ball into Randles hands more and we seen that doesn’t work.

The Knicks need a big combo wing who can guard 3/4 because RJ and Randle aren’t out there for defense. On nights like yesterday, RJ should have been relegated to the bench unit

The Knicks need a big ball handler 2-way guard to play next to IQ so IQ can thrive a a small 2 guard on the bench and to back up Grimes defensively against point of attack 2 guards who rely on speed.

The roster as is need OG and Alec Burks, plus a healthy Mitch and Maybe Thibs with all his flaws could lead that team to a high seed, because he would have everything we’ve seen him use to win game at his disposal at one time. No in game adjustments or creative thinking necessary.

I was in the middle of rebutting this, then I deleted everything and decided I'm just gonna root for whoever is here and I don't wanna be negative lol. At the end of the day, RJ is a good kid and he's easy to root for. I hope he gets it together.

That Kyrie trade means the protections on the Mavs pick got lifted right?
no I think they sent them their 2029 first rounder unprotected and a bunch of seconds. I am legit surprised the Nets didn’t demand more, that would have led to the protection being taken off but…

:yeshrug: At least we aren’t Nets fans.

If Kyrie isn’t a nut case that gives them multiple draft picks to either add to the team through the draft or make another trade. So while the KP trade really hamstrung Dallas ability to build around Luka, this trade (if Kyrie doesn’t implode) could really help them build a team around Luka. I like it for Dallas unless Kyrie does something toxic.
