:jbhmm:

Let's stop with the narrative, brehs.

These are professional athletes in peak shape.

Horse shyt… what are the minutes ranking for the past month? Thibs was resting guys a lot more at the beginning of the season and threw that shyt away once his seat got hot.

That’s not telling the whole story. For example, last 12 games (since December 12th) Randle has played 35+ mins each game, with 5 of those games he played 40+.

Same goes for Brunson who played 35+ mins each game the last 12 (not counting the 3 he missed).

Beat me to it.

Exactly! Let's not act like this was done out of the kindness of his heart. He was forced to play these younger guys but now he's slipping back into bad habits like you said with the minutes load on the starters. I'm not trying to jinx us but someone's bound to get seriously hurt with the mins he has them logging. And we'll all be pissed because most of us saw it coming.

Thibs's coaching style is not sustainable in the long run as we've seen in Chicago & Minny
I agree but the alternative is losing and we know both the FO and especially the coaching staff don’t have guaranteed jobs if the Knicks miss the playoffs.

The solution would be to trade for someone who could force Thibs to play RJ/Randle less minutes, but player being available who can be that is far from a sure thing. In time I see IQ cutting into Brunson’s minutes to something less extreme. They got to get a combo wing forward who can do the same for RJ and Randle. So they can get both of them to less than 38 mpg.

They need a combo Foward wing to play 20+ mpg, who is not a liability on offense, and who can guard iso wing players. They also don’t need to do anything drastic to get that player either. The draft has enough guys like that they’ll get someone from it if they want.

I say all that to say that I don’t expect anything to change in season unless some team decides to do a fire sale and that type combo forward is a part of it.

Very true but I think Thibs is doing more harm then helping long term. It's why we lost the "historic" Mavs game & other games like that this season. And I totally agree with you on what we need. I just don't trust Thibs & his stuck old ways lol
