Gotta be real, I don't think Thibs is the problem. I don't think Randle deserves to be made into a scapegoat either since he's actually playing good ball, and while Fournier should get traded, he's still better than Barrett. That sounds fair…
Except Randle and Fournier are still here though. Thibs is still here too.
This team needs to trade Randle and Fournier yesterday and then get a new coach who can rein in RJ or create a better offense.
The problem with this FO is that they get shook and turn p*ssy. Every time they try to be too safe or too smart they accomplish shyt. The only time they are willing to make a move is when the other side is desperate or they have insider information from CAA.
RJ has no offensive bag; when was the last time he attempted a simple step back? RJ is getting wide open spot ups from wherever on the court constantly, some of the easiest shots possible and he's not close to hitting them, changing up the offense is not gonna give him better opportunities than those. RJ is choosing to Barrell into the two defenders at the rim and take harder shots because he can't shoot point blank. We can talk about reigning RJ in, but when does self-accountability come into play?
I hope this slow start shyt for RJ really is a thing so he can recoup some value and get traded. A player who needs a quarter of the season to round into good play shouldn't be a building block. I like RJ but it's obvious he's not gonna become the homegrown star we wanted. I'll be happy if he proves me wrong though.
