Players are now getting such big contracts that even if they're perennial all stars they still might not be worth all of the money spent. I'm glad we don't gotta hand out any big contracts this year, we can sit back and see how the market adjusts over the next couple of years because it feels like some sort of pull back is gonna happen.

Actually no, the league is making a shyt ton of money. To the point I think the reason the mid year tournament exists is that the smoothing they did of 10% salary cap increase every year doesn’t match the guaranteed 50% share of basketball related income. So they have to have a tournament to pay the rest of the money earned to the winners. We might see a tournament with like a 50 million pot to the win in team.

Honestly Idk either but they didn’t give themselves amnesties and teams are stupid every summer. I just know the money is about to crazy and they all know it.

Some of these deals getting signed are straight trash. Bruce Brown, Jerami Grant, Fred Vanvleet, Kyle Kuzma, all just terrible decisions. I think from now on if these caliber of players don't agree to a reasonable contract extension early, then you trade them without exception.

If the monies there, the contracts are justified. It would take the NBA to take massive losses for the money to become a problem. Contracts are all percentage based on revenue. Players are making more because the owners are making more too. We can’t keep looking at these contracts in vacuums.
