I agree. With the second tax apron in mind, guys like Barrett, Brunson and Randle are that much more valuable because of their contracts. Conversely Beal is damn near a net negative because of his salary. Beal has a 15% trade kicker too... Washington might have to treat Beal like a salary dump in all honesty.

He would waive the trade kicker 100% that's not really an issue

Beal is at $46 next year, Fournier and RJ make $41, so maybe one more salary (McBride?) would have to do it, since I'm not sure how the percentage differences in salary work.

For that price tag it's a no brainier to maintain depth and have someone else that can consistently get buckets, but the team still needs more from the bench. A career loser 30 year old at nearly 50 mil isn't the missing piece, but it will certainly help given RJ's inconsistency, or at least keeps the defense honest.

I really wish they would go through the draft for the wing spots and see what becomes available up front. I don't buy Embiid or KAT, but I'd rather get youth at the wing and some shooting up front. I'd be all for keeping the roster as is, finding a way to grab Porzingis as a super sub and try to make moves for a wing in the draft but that's just me.

I just don’t see any scenerio in which the Knicks are paying Brunson (26 million), Julius (25 million), Barrett (24 million) and then adding 46 million with Beal. Barrett will definitely be moving since Washington would be in full rebuild mode.
