white people are the real face of poverty and welfare in America BUT because of their powerful media outlets they are able to give the America and the world the perception that poverty and welfare is predominantly Black/African-American.

If we had our own independent media (TV,radio,etc.) then we would be in a stronger position to combat the negative images they are being of us.

Media and Image is a key battle in combating racism.

A lot of young whites are increasingly getting hooked on drugs which makes them lazy and not deemed worthy of being hooked up with a jobs by richer whites. If you are white and don't have money you are still better off than a poor black adult. Poor white girls are starting to have more babies out of wedlock, getting on that welfare hustle. If not they try to marry the first hick they can find going into the military.

Which is, of course, a completely different story. Whites account for 41 percent of the nation's poor, more than double the number of poor blacks. Why would those numbers be alarming for white people? Whites account for 72.4% of the nation's population, and nearly six times the number of blacks. With the sheer number of white people in the United States, you'd have to expect a good number are poor.

The poverty rate among each group, as this thread title misleadingly gestures toward, is the real salient statistic here. And based on the numbers in the article and census population data, the poverty rate among whites is around 8.5%, while the poverty rate among blacks is around 24.4% -- still nearly three times higher than whites.
