If you come to South Africa i would highly suggest that you cop some commercial property, basically instead of buying buying house this side, rather use that favorable exchange rate and actually purchase vacant property stands or pre existing office, especially in the "smaller" cities or towns (Bloemfontein, East London, Port Elizabeth, George, Massey Bay, Rustenberg etc), all you gotta do is find a property management company to run operage the property on your behalf whilst you collect the rent. All the major banks in SA (FNB, ABSA, Nedbank etc) have dedicated divisions that specialise in this type of stuff.
Commercial property is the best money maker you could ever invest in here in SA. You'll have to get a law firm that will handle your business account here and make sure you abide by all the legal requirements and taxes etc.
