This is one of those headlines that makes people angry until they listen to what he’s saying.

So for people about to comment without watching, he’s saying white people don’t acknowledge white privilege because of the wording, and he calls it white blessing, because he knows as a white man in American, slavery was the blessing to him to allow him to have “white privilege”.

He’s not saying it was a blessing to black people.

Frankly, I’m sick of giving white people the benefit of the doubt that they don’t get it, and if things get explained to them, they’ll change. At this point, it’s been explained too many times. They aren’t acknowledging it, because it’s not in their collective best interest to do so, or change anything.

Basically this:

And this:

Cliffs: change words to make White people feel better about something they’re uncomfortable hearing.

:camby:

Yeah clips like this get posted for the "headline" and people jump to their feelings without even trying to understand context. It was a convo about race and the church. Lecrae clearly understood what he was saying. Chick Fil A guy literally shined his shoes during the segment.

Exactly...we ain't changing shyt just because you to soft to face facts. This ain't over by a long shot ya'll. Its impossible for white society it seems to just fall back and take a L on this one. It not like doing what black folks ask of you would all of a sudden erode the foundations of capitalism or the country. That's how deep rooted the racism is...

Who gives a fukk how he worded it? The concept of it being a blessing, no matter the context, is offensive and borderline evil. How can anything so monstrous, so inhumane, be anything but a curse to whomever profited from it? Does this cac honestly believe the country he now lives in, which is burning by the day, with thousands still filling the streets of cities across it, is a blessing to white people? Cacs are obsessed with us, tortured to the point of rage by our mere resolve in the face of their horrific system of white supremacy, unable to think of anything but how to perpetuate our misery. Blessing?

We need to stop calling the shyt that happened during that time JUST slavery, because that's not all of what happened during that time period. It is just the first phase of an on going genocide

Non blacks keep using the term slavery as a technicality, as in that time period of slavery was just that, nikkas working in the fields. they use that to negate everything else that happened

they killed people for shyts and giggles, it was not just servitude going on. It was state sanctioned schadenfreude, rape, murder, infanticide and almost every human rights violation under the sun

The system is good for white people. Whether you use blessing, privilege, whatever. This is for white people who try to explain white privilege to white people. More then likely yall not trying to have thst discussion anyway with whites

The irony of him saying "If the phrase is the trip up, then let's get down to the heart of the matter", yet everyone is getting tripped up over yet another phrase. This is why progress is so slow. We can't get bogged down by silly arguments on terminology. Let's talk about the real issues and solutions.
