Karl Kani was alright but the majority of those clothing lines were terrible.


I was a teen in the early 2000s and I dressed like that but I could not imagine dressing that way as a grown man. Funny thing is now I make more money but spend way less on clothes. at buying a $70 phat farm button up in 10th grade.

Black designers have the bad habit of making their clothes strictly for black people and that's why they don't take off. They urbanize everything.

You can make clothes and make money being a black designer without them even knowing you're a black designer. Reach to a broader audience. Make clothes that celebrities would wear, because the average person will buy what they see a celebrity wearing.

I'm yet to see a black designer cross over into those realms
