Amazing what happens when you just spend the money direct and not fukk around with skimming middlemen/politicians and red tape.

Also why so many are against real cash reparations. :sas2:
Ummmm, as someone who supports reparations (just not crashing out over it), he was the middleman. He literally directed initiatives that did more than put cash in their pockets and said "Be free." Community investment in earnest is tangibly better than a "Ya'll figure it out" approach. And he only has to focus on *A* neighborhood. This ain't an argument for reparations in the way you think.

Not the point.

They're scared many of us won't blow it on Jordans and rims, and Black Wall Streets will start happening again, showing the po' cacs they've been getting duped, and we'll get ourselves from the bottom, and they'll either have to destroy it again (optically nigh impossible today), or take the massive L.

Thats fair. But again, we had one guy who could shape how his money went out. It did not turn into a tug of war with "fukk yall, imma do what I want with it" like it inevitably would if everyone is given cash. Actual sustainable living is going to need to focus on community investment, lest everyone who gets money suddenly realizes they want functioning services, nice views, and great amenities and all they need is a moving truck. A bunch of people will blow it on dumb shyt without a doubt, and if taxes are involved, get into tax debt. Giving a financially disadvantaged and educationally neglected group a windfall is a recipe for speed-running the enrichment of others.

One guy doling out bread, and a whole community getting a cash infusion are two very different scenarios.

Here we go, lol

Why can't the first thought be that people pay off their current debts.

Like, some of yall really feel black people won't pay their rent and buy their kids clothes first.

Thats what I am saying, but you brought up reparations. The very reason this neighborhood is doing well is that the benefactor made sure above all else, education and child care was taken care of. Put money into everyone's hands and they will have very different ideas of what to do, a lot of it being a detriment to long-term prosperity.

:martin:Get this "yall" shyt out my face. Every race has fallen into the lifestyle creep/windfall fukkup trap. Yes they may pay their rent, but will it be in the same neighborhood or is the first move to go somewhere better? The kids get clothes, but will they be the same OshKosh or something higher end to signal not having to scrimp and save anymore? A lot of people will do right. A lot of people will try their best. And a lot of people will fukk their money up.

Getting money does not suddenly mean the same people will know how to keep it. Education of the financial sort should be the #1 goal just so folks who didn't have now know how to not be without again. You know this. Lets not 'respectability' this up.

If 40 million FBA people get reparations, even 20% of them not fukking it off will cause massive change.

I agree to a point. The ensuing inflation, the housing race, etc has to account for the new money. A demographic competing over a lesser share of resources is now able to compete for bigger shares, there are growing pains.
