the svelte brunette models are promoted by tastemakers and designers in the fashion industry, a lot of which are white males
the sexy blonde is obv promoted by males
the hot asian, the hot latina and the hot mixed black chick stereotype is also promoted by white males too, just not as heavy

The fashion industry seems to have it's own standard. The average white male seems to have one. And with advertisers aimin' more & more at Blacks, they hit us with a few types.

even with 5 standards, a lot of people fall into none of them though. And the problem isn't the media standards themselves, the problem is when minority communities start integrating a set of standards made by the majority to evaluate their peers
I wouldn't care so much if people didn't adopt what's promoted in the media as valuable as a guide for how they judge the people around them.

Its odd how taste in women change, for me, it went black, light skin black girls, Latina',s white women, mixed women and then back to dark skin black women.

I think standard of beauty is regional specific at times. Even in Africa there are different standard of beauty btw regions and nationalities. Both women are Ok, but i prefer my own people, for me women from my region is the standard.
