Average time off for a bad calf strain in the NBA is 4-6 weeks. Hell, KAT missed like 3 months last year with a bad strain.

But hey, I'm sure Giannis is gonna be A-OK after straining his calf two weeks ago.

It's hard to come here for serious sports discourse sometimes, I tell ya

Other aspect of the Giannis injury is his game is heavily reliant on his athleticism (or players need it obv but him more so)

Achilles tear could really derail his career

Yeah, Giannis is not someone I'd put out there when he's dealing with something that has a high re-injury risk. That's what makes calf injuries suck so bad - you have to do nothing while it heals totally, then work to rebuild your strength because you've been idle. Skip any step and aggravate the pull and you're back at square one.

At the bare minimum, you just hope you get through this Pacers series and play the winner of the Knicks/Sixers. The conference semis start May 6-7, Giannis got injured April 9 - at least you re-evaluate at that point. I think it's incredibly irresponsible to put him out there at all this series.

If the Achilles is gonna tear, that's happening regardless of how much rest he gets.

Not necessarily. Malcolm Brogdon has the same calf/Achilles soreness last year with the Celtics. The team sat him out multiple games after that, and reduced his minutes, ended up playing in the playoffs with no Achilles tear

IF I'm Giannis there's no way I'm playing again this year. Too risky. Aaron Rodgers and KD had those calf strains right before they tore their Achilles. Let's be honest, this Bucks team ain't winning the chip - hell, the Pacers beat them 4 of 5 with Giannis

Facts. The game Bucks did win Giannis had to score 64 points and play high intensity 40+ minutes. No way he should be doing that coming off this injury
