His music is low artistic quality?:rudy:

The man has done radio and album/street ish...granted, he harps on a lot of the same stuff but hell, a LOT of artists do and still continue to do so...not making excuses, just stating fact. His wordplay has been phenomenal, beats on point and generally has been the "uncle" or "big homie" of the rap game for at least a decade...I mean I just feel like y'all sellin him short, I'm no stan, just a LONG TIME fan who's appreciated his work...

No doubt tho bruh, I mean I disagree with your opinion, but i still respect it.

i am a fan, too.

only issue is i noticed his decline skillwise a decade plus ago now on roc la.
after the intro to roc la,..then streets is talkin.
he never really got back to that level as a consistent standard.

which he ahould have Always maintained. which he did not because it is obvious.
he needs better emcees around to feed and morph off of.
dawg,..jay's ramped up core skills regressed after volume three.

that was the last album where he went in, for real.

then he fell off trying to incorporate snoop and a host of other artist's pockets and biting on roc la.

then on bp i he went all soft and never recovered.

plus the last real flash of brilliance was spotty on the international hov mix cd.

with laser in your ear.
yet, on bp ii, he had periods.

where he sounds unconvinced himself after ether.

if not for laser in ya ear. which was some lemme get in and be old jay track.
over a big track which was like his confidence boost out of familiarity.
except here and there on one shots.
after numerous albums.
that either did not make the album.
after being previously released before the album was slated to drop as a teaser.

those records are:

show you how
jock'n jayz
brooklyn we go hard

on swagger like us,...ti with reduced technical skills embarrasses everyone.
it was almost as bad as renegades.

on the black album,..
we really don't know if lupe wrote it or not concretely.
so we have a questionmark there.
as his next album, after so-called retirement was his weakest showing lyrically, to that date.
which could have been because there was no lupe to piggyback off of.

except for where the justblaze beat got him off, on kingdom come.
he was even worse on battle records after laser in your ear to bp ii, to now.
we as fans gave him erroneous props, and excuses.
nobody else in rap is afforded the luxury of.

plus jay fell off but was given a pass.
, from nas's inclusion to defjam's roster.
then, after that awful showing amd another battle loss as well.
jay was god awfully horrible.
with no real dope boi trapstar gen ready material rhymewise on ag.
which was a marketing piggy back of denzel.
which was not a great content wise.
or a return to his form of rd,..like pr'd as well.
which was some bullshyt,....given the level of content, detail and depth rudimentary guys in trap rap gave for realism at that time.
bp iii was horrendous!
that was a low qaulity rehash of other people hits and chance takng that was awful!
that shyt was like a bullshyt disco/house xmas party ballroom dance corporate record.

in his discography, volume one gained a cult following.
after it actually flopped from underperforming.
if you check the year and the executive producer credit and pr.
of who made it possible and the fact it was his first and supposedly his last defjam record.

volume iii,...has like three to four replayable records.

as he was going throughed't a skill hiccup rampup period.

so he was barely spitting one to two syllables.

if he was not comfortable on new gen production.
which was dialed back lyricism from volume one completely.

he just had timing and luck on his side.
including, a second chance to capitalize after pac and big's death.
after he flopped and failed to capitalize on big's death on volume one.

if not for that second chance, to draw on volume ii.
to seize the day from big/pac's death.
which was supposed to be after he first retired.
jayz would have been a gold manufacturing run priority artist.
plus a flopped defjam distributed artist.
with a puff executice producer credit.
that did not result in large sales like originally expected on volume one.

i think a lot of dudes do not know jay's skillset, history or pr.

if not for the glass ceiling being broken.
plus ny having an anemiac client as a result.

so much later after big's death.

jay would not be jay right now at all.

his pr and the payola oversaturation single run.

is what aided him to become the household name of jayz.
