I don't know how else to be.

I hate discrimination of any kind.

please don't bring biracial kids into the world being "color blind". i hate people with that mentality that have mixed kids they dont properly prepare them for the real world. racism will never end period.

cause as a person of color (regardless of if you're "mixed"), your children will face some kind of discrimination and you should be prepared for that (unfortunately).

So when you look at statistics that show black people being punished more heavily for the same crimes, or blacks being given lesser care in hospitals, or less pay, or discrimination in the housing market, or a numerous amount of other statistics that show a clear and defined race-based oppression in this country...you don't notice anything is wrong?

From a wider, social perspective, it's outright dangerous perspective to have. Did you "not see race" during the Trayvon Martin trial?
Blacks don't have the luxury of being "color blind"...our color can result in us being fukking killed. So we need to acknowledge racial realities as much as possible.

If you want to be a true ally, you need to acknowledge how race affects the lives of ethnic minorities, in particular black people who are constantly the odd-men out and black sheep (no pun intended) of the planet. Most importantly, you need to call out other whites for their racist bullshyt when you see it. You can't do this if you "don't see race".

I see where she is coming from, and I have some empathy. Without making this about myself, I grew up in a different kind of environment than a lot of people, and I used to consider myself color-blind. I grew up in mixed communities, and had a rainbow coalition of friends. To this day, people still think I am kind of weird, and that all of us from a similar background are strange as well. But once I left the community I grew up in and was exposed to the real United States when I got to college, my eyes were opened pretty damn fast and they've been wide open ever sense. Hopefully she'll see certain things and be able to apply that knowledge for greater good. Whether it's raising kids, or not putting up with bullshyt from ignorant people.

I hate telling people how to live their lives, especially when I don't even know them, and especially when I'm only 20 and don't really know shyt myself. But to that female here talking about having interracial kids all I've got to say is, you'd be doing an extreme disservice to your children if you didn't teach them this kind of discrimination exists. Although I will say this is not something you should actually have to burden (because tbh, you will fully never understand the intricacies and this is just the truth), this is something that's more than you and would actually fall more on the shoulders of whatever color man you mate with. But as the mother of those children it is your responsibility to be at least cognizant of the situation, you cannot afford to have your mixed children "blind" to the world because the world will not be blind to them. You say you're still learning from your boyfriend about these issues, ask him what a "nikka wake up call" is because it's the very thing that keeps us from being like you and "blind". You being the skin color you are you can afford to live like this, most white people front like they live like this even though they don't. Being black, you can only get so far in this society before society reminds you you are black, and this is unfortunately what is going to happen to your biracial children.

And I saw a comment about The-Coli.com. From what I can see, most of these race threads and comments (outside of the usual pawg this or that) on this forum aren't made by black people. The vast majority of them are masquerading as blacks to promote the viewpoint of black men and women being ignorant and inferior. Some of yall don't want to think that people are actually paid to come to these forums and do this shyt and that it's just white losers in their basements, that's not true. It's both them and people paid by certain agendas. I don't know why these people aren't being banned, I will say that The Coli is the only website I visit who doesn't ban these people immediately. I'm sure it has something to do with race threads generating the most clicks on this website outside of the game threads or WWE threads (or Kind Gentleman threads), but I don't think the clicks are worth the continued degradation of this community here and it's something I'd like to see cleaned up for The Coli in 2014.

Anyway, and it's not just white people and their trickery, black people are feeding into this bullshyt too and actively helping those white people in tearing us down. The truth is as African Americans we're being programmed to idolize whites. Some of us follow the protocol and go along with the brainwashing (aka "c00n" or bedwench), then there are those of us who take a much more staunch in maintaining blackness, then there are those of us in the grey area. Unfortunately what happens to a lot of black people is they'll get mistaken for someone like @Chris.B or one of those women from Lipstickalley who would willingly allow to be spat on for the company of a white man, and get unfairly attacked if they date someone out of race. Both blacks and whites look down on IR relationships, but it's a little more personal when it comes to blacks. If we don't preserve us, no one else will. When we're being taught that "white is right", the white man created and did everything and we were just along for the ride except for that MLK guy, and the entire cultures and inventions that our people created are getting erased or being credited to a white man, this is what we got. You're left with a view (albeit an extreme one, these coli dudes aren't running around calling people cacs) of an extremely dysfunctional, insecure, manipulated, community of people who hate themselves.

TL;DR - Black people are fukked in this country whether it by our own hands or the hands of those in charge, and you need to do your very best to teach your children about all of this instead of sweeping it under the rug. If you won't bring it up to them then someone else will have no problem doing it.

I have to address this. My Mom raised me to be color blind. My family mostly have light brown hair, green eyes. I may have light skin, but I was the 'black sheep'. She may not have been the best mother, but I got value and comfort from that.

My neighborhood had very few black people. My graduating class was probably 90% hispanic, 10% "other".

I'm just learning this 'white privilege' and 'color blind' thing. I really am color blind, no pretending. Call me naive. I don't know how else to be.

I talk to my bf about it all, and he's opening my eyes more.

Neg me into oblivion if you like, but I am proud of the way I see the world. I have hope. I hate discrimination of any kind.

go to 10:00 and learn why claiming to be "color blind" isn't a good thing at all. You're denying that individual's reality and viewing them in a way that's more comfortable to you. It's basically deluding yourself and insulating your mind from the oppression that others face for their features

if you really hate discrimination you would be acknowledging those differences and not pretending they don't exist

Its funny to me when people get upset when a half white person marries white. Look at all the hate Halley Berry, Paula Patton etc get on here. Says a lot. Get over yourself. You don't own anyone. People should feel free to marry whoever they want.

well then I should be free to say I disagree with her decision

nobody is saying she can't marry white.....we just callin her a c00n for doing so

I have a right to feel how I feel just as much as she has a right to marry who she feels

All I'm sayin is to let that broad cook man. It shouldn't really matter if she married a white dude, asian dude or whatever. Shes mixed anyways, so her marrying a white dude shouldn't be a big deal.

Barack married Michelle, but u never hear people say shyt like "he must hate his mama/ or "his mama is white"

Barack never got on television and implied that White people were racist
