Which nba star from the 90s or early 2000s do you think would be average in today's game?

Charles Barkley

A fat 6’4” PF that somehow managed to be one of the best big men of his era.

:mjlol:
This is another bad assessment. What made Barkley special was that he was a banger and a stretch 4. You act as is other 6’6 players were doing what he did at the time. That niqqa, even back then, was viewed as the biggest anomaly in the NBA. Hes still the biggest NBA outlier of damn near the last 50 years

The current NBA era is tailor-made for Bird lol

@Rhakim
I definitely get the Clyde Drexler arguments tho. But dude had a elite quickness and although he had emphasis on driving right he was always effective off ball, had a great post up game, and was a good facilitator. Bum ass Wiggins can’t compare :pachaha:

That’s not the first time I’ve heard about his basketball IQ tho. OGs told me before those late 80’s early 90’s Trailblazers teams were immensely talented but really dumb. :mjlol:

Juwan Howard doesn't really have a position in today's NBA, as he couldn't spread the floor well enough to make up for his mediocre length at the 4

I wouldn't have called Barkley a stretch four, but he would have been great in any era.

You know the coliseum says everything that’s older is better. These nikkas wouldn’t ever admit to an older player struggling in today’s NBA. But if you flipped it and said which player today would struggle back in the day and there would dozens of names thrown around :Idontseeanything:

Kemba walker is a better scorer than GP. Most teams play fast and GP half court defense is all time great. With the league running fast breaks and launching threes I don't see him being as effective. It was more of a half court league then

the thing is we can't say that if we are going to do this thread right. If we are going to take 80s- 90s legends, we are doing it with them having access to modern strength and conditioning.

not to mention most of them are way more mentally stronger then than now, you couldnt rely on the ref to bail you out.

GP would EAT. Look at all the defensive specialists now, hes bigger and more athletic than all of them

Barkley could become a stretch 4. Especially later in Philly and in Phoenix. I remember him in Philly and facing Oakley who was giving him trouble until CB made that heavy footed brute step outside the paint after raining jumper after jumper on him. Frustrated the shyt out of Oakley who started getting t’s hard fouling him. :russ:

Those Blazers teams would get in their own way all the time with that dumb shyt. Kevin Duckworrh (RIP) had the mental make up of a snail, he was so bat shyt inconsistent. The only reason the Bulls faced the Lakers in the 91’ Finals was the Blazers dumbing out vs the Lakers in the WCF. They were favored all season to make it to the Finals that year and choked.

Juwan wasn't a star.

Barkley was enough of a threat from outside, he'd be even better at the long ball today. nikkas these days got it twisted in regards to Sir Charles.
Think Rodman would average more flagrants and technicals than ppg :manny:

Rodman could score if he wanted to, he was never on teams that needed that from him so he never invested in it.

And being one of the best passing bigs, he'd likely have more people to kick it out to.

Lol you can’t just take players from the past and pluck them in today’s game. That’s not how it works. You can do the reverse tho
