Coli brehs that do combat sports how is it? I used to do a little Boxing back in the day just practicing :jawalrus: However, I've been thinking of doing BJJ/MMA. I'd love to do a few MMA fights when I get my lid worked on :manny: Tell me how it went for you. Is it hard on your body? I remember when I wanted to do Pro Wrestling and so close to joining a school three years ago :pachaha: I was in shape and everything :snoop:

My best friend has been practicing martial arts since he was 14...he's 36 now. He's been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu since 2001....he literally went to live in Brazil just to train. Trains with the Gracie family exclusively, doesn't go professional because the money is not worth the long-term damage (in his opinion).

He's ALWAYS in pain....but the pain is nothing compared to his love for training.

That's interesting for real. It's great he does something he loves.

When I graduated high school I had plans to become a Pro Wrestler and do Grappling, but didn't follow through. I'd like to do MMA or amateur to be competitive.

Have you ever competed in a combat sport?

"The only martial art needed is brazilian jiu jitsu" - @Mowgli

I like BJJ but a lot of nerds are attracted to it. They do some grappling and check off the "did combat sports" box off their bucket list.

Try doing that shyt when someone's trying to throw bombs on you.

You need to be a legit purple belt from a legit school with legit lineage before the part of being a nerd that makes you p*ssy separates from your soul.

When youve attained true rank in bjj, checking odd combat sports takes on a whole new meaning. Dont let pride take away the reality of grappling.

Try throwing b0mbs while being mounted with someone throwing b0mbs on u.

It just might take your breath away.

Mma is the future im sorry. Boxers will become the new striking coaches at bjj gyms and the art will become another animal.

An animal that can never be tamed

I've trained and competed in MMA I'm a neophyte in grappling (trained mostly nogi). I'm more of a striker.

I just mean the mainstream culture of BJJ guys. Smoke weed, listen to Joe Rogan, and train BJJ. #jiujitsusavedmylife They are the Crossfit of combat sports.

You run into Judokas, Catch Wrestlers, Freestyle Wrestlers, and those who train Sambo and they don't have the same attitude about their grappling art as BJJ guys have.

I'll still train it but I gotta avoid the Kool-Aid BJJ folks tbh.

I took kickboxing & practiced Jujitsu... I was mostly stand up until them big dudes showed up, take em down & choke em... "Can't fight if you can't breathe"... It's got athletics & trains your body... Just study to counter the opponent... I've beaten people way bigger cause they thought I'd stand up, like I'm dumb enough to box them... I took their legs & they were helpless...

Go by your strength OP, can't slam him if you can't slam him...
