Anyone who wasn't loved as a child grows up with all kinds of flaws and fukked up emotional and confidence and personality issues. Many of which they never identify because they're incapable of introspection or self love.
Respect, or rather... perceived disrespect, might be the leading cause of death and prison.
Literally nobody who seeks respect is worthy of it.

Respect is overrated. I can respect my enemy and still eradicate them from the face of the earth. While Love is fickle and can go away or be replaced.

When someone shows you respect they treat you like they expect to be treated or what you specifically outlined for them as far as acceptable behavior.
Love is a feeling of endearment or affinity for another person.
Respect is manifested in specific actions. While love can be expressed but really leaves behavior up to individuals.
