Just so we are all clear, here are the tiers of gangster movies:

1. Goodfellas, Godfather 1, 2
2. Donnie Brasco, Casino
3. Scarface
4. Blow
5. Godfather 3
6. Carlito's Way 2: Rise to Power
7. Carlito's Way
:ehh: my disagreements would be

casino is in the top tier

:mjlol: at even mentioning carlitos way 2

Man - that's a tough one. I'll always have a soft spot for Scarface - I once gave the 'Say goodnight to the bad guy' speech at a job I hated on the day I was leaving, but there's too many GOAT moments in Goodfellas. The scene where they go to his mom's spot for dinner while Billy Bats is in the trunk might be one of my top five comedy moments in any movie.

Scarface narrowly edges Goodfellas off the strength of the restaurant "say good night to the bad guy" scene, which sums up my attitude towards society and humanity in general.

Blow comes in a distant third, not a bad movie, but not nearly on these films' level, plus the second half is so depressing I don't think I could ever watch it again.

Casino is >>> but Goodfellas is my shyt. Ray Liotta when he starts spazzing out on his wife is a top 10 unintentionally hilarious scene
casino is amazing but it is also essentially goodfellas pt. 2. same movie just in a different setting with different characters. more epic and larger in scale too.

goodfellas had the benefit of coming first and breaking that ground. plus it's more lively and energetic.

Ehhhhh..i see where you're coming from but i disagree. I don't think that its the same movie at all. There are definitely parallels but thats about it.
