Personally, I gotta be in a certain mood for 80's music. It seemed like alot of it didn't have as much depth as the 70's and then the 90's. I still wouldn't put it last tho

I dont hate this era too much but I cant honestly say the first 3 years of this decade are the GOAT of any decade jus my opinion

Disco was a short lived gimmick tbh. shyt died before the decade was over, or at least not after the year 1980.
Naw, more like late 07-08 laid the foundation for this decade. Especially the impact of Carter 3, and 808s.

) George Duke, the Ohio Players, Bootsy Collins, Curtis Mayfield, Willie Hutch, Shuggie Otis, Tower of Power, Rose Royce, Sly and the Family Stone, the Sylvers, P-Funk, Funkadelic, etc.
(On the rock side of things, Queen, Todd Rundgren, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, and Yes

The 60's would come up next. James Brown, Sam Cooke, the Temptations, the Stylistics, Smokey Robinson, Hendrix...
Cream, the Beatles, the Doors, Status Quo, the Electric Prunes
The 80's? MJ and Prince are both GOAT contenders. Other than that, Rick James, Cameo, Maze ft. Frankie Beverly, and Loose Ends are pretty dope.
Electro music like Kraftwerk and Yellow Magic Orchestra were putting out piff then
Rush is also one of the GOAT rock bands
Hip hop peaked with the late 80's/early 90's IMO. All the negativity that took over after that ruined it for me, outside of underground music.

The music standards were a lot higher so there were tons of amazing records being putting out that, for w/e reason, didn't get a lot of attention.
