That's some dumbass shyt. Mariota played like 9 fourth quarters in his entire career. Oregon usually had 3rd-stringers getting playing time in the first half and stopped through the ball midway through the 3rd quarter. Weak teams complaining about Oregon "running up the score" because the starters might get 35-42 in the first 20 minutes of the game and those weak opposing defenses couldn't stop the backups in the 3rd quarter even when they were running the ball every freaking play. What did you want them to do, start kneeling the ball with 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter just because they'd crossed the 50-point theshhold? Call plays where the running back just steps on the sideline instead of the end zone, just because?
I bet you anything Oregon had less fourth quarter scoring than any other dominant team during their run, outside of the really close games.
It don't matter you don't remember how them Big 8/12 teams ran it up on Oklahoma and Nebraska when they fell off teams gonna take advantage when they can.
