damn, NY really can't win with some of ya'll
You got the vets still dropping quality material (Nas, Jay) and its "those nyggas are old, where's the new blood?"
you have younger commercial artists who are either established stars or on the come up(Nicki, French) and its "that shyt is trash though, where's the talent?"
you have genuinely talented lyricists with a throwback NY sound(Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson) and its, "that shyt is boring and its been done before, where's the progression NY?"
you have artists who are going for a newer progressive sound(Flatbush Zombies) and its, "that shyt is weird as fukk, no one is trying to hear that corny shyt, where's the hot shyt NY?"
you have artists who are dropping hot shyt for the newer, tumblr generation(A$ap Mob) and its "that shyt is weirdo, hipster trash and it doesn't sound like classic NY music"(even though ya'll shyt on Joey Badass for making classic NY music)
you nyggas are so obsessed with the idea of NY being irrelevant and discrediting everything they do that you don't even realize how much your arguments contradict themselves or appreciate the fact that NY is currently in a stronger state than its been in years
and lets face it, if Chief Keef was from Brooklyn you'd dismiss him as an ignorant hood nygga with no talent. If Kendrick Lamar was from Queens you'd dismiss him as a corny backpacker. the double standards ya'll have for NY compared to other regions are ridiculous
