Not to derail the thread but I want to share something interesting about Africa and India I read today. Apparently, there was an African slave in the early 1300s, named Malik Kafur who ended up in India. He worked his way up cause the Indian sultan who bought him realized he was a pretty smart military advisor.

Then in 1306 the Mongols invaded India; yes the same Mongols that killed conquered China, Baghdad and half of Europe(Russia, poland, Hungary, etc)

The Mongols had literally never lost a war, but the Indian sultan put Malik Kafur in charge of the entire army of India, and this breh routed them
