I don't think the Pistons would beat any of the great teams from the past that won a title like the Bulls Celts and Lakers from the 80's. But i think they could compete with a lot of recent champions like the Kobe led Lakers and the 2011 Mavericks squads.

I don't know where to place them in the ranks of NBA's greatest teams. They lost some points from me when they lost against Lebron and the Cavs. The Pistons took the Cavs too lightly in that series. Although they had underachieved that season in 06, the Pistons had a great run during their tenure as the best team in the East.

That was an entirely different team. No Larry Brown or Ben Wallace

You mean the ones that beat Kobe's "rape" Lakers?

Please, without Kaitlyn Faber, the Lakers would have won the title that year.

Plus Karl Malone tried to molest Kobe's wife and Shaq was out of shape and fighting with Kobe.

Gary Payton was straight :larryholmes: status.

They're in the bottom 10 of all-time teams.

Nowhere in the league of Russell or Bird's Celtics, or Jerry West, Magic, or Shaq & Kobe (in their prime) Lakers, Jordan's Bulls, or any other great teams.

Who's scoring against that defense?

2004 Pistons - 94.1 DRtg (#2):wow:(And in the Playoffs 92)

Teams were struggling to put up 80 points against them at times

Nobody was scoring in that era.

The post strike era of 1999-2006 was like the worst era in NBA history.
