As a patriots fan who saw them lose the SB to the giants after the perfect regular season, I saw a lions loss coming at some point. Purely because like the Patriots they put so much effort into blowing teams out and not resting players enough during the season and doing a bit to much in some games. Some of these players burnt out.
Reminds me of the Cowboys vs Lions game. Running trick plays in a blowout.

I think Goff is good for another season. Yeah they went out in surprising fashion but he played well enough this season and can get them to the playoffs again next season....the big question mark will be how they replace Ben Johnson if he is such a guru for the offense.

Yeah, this is more about what Lions do about Johnson and Glenn than Goff. Campbell is not good at schemes to where he can lose guys like Reid or Belichick and still operate at at high level.

With the Lions having all those injuries on defense I wouldn't have been surprised if their run came to an end. But the turnovers did them in and a good team took advantage of them. This was an upset no doubt but not some all time one that should be talked about years from now. The hot team who has to play on the road the entire playoffs has been told before. If the Red....errCommanders pull it off next week I wouldn't be shocked either. Now if they beat whoever comes out of the AFC then we are talking about an all time run then. Cause I don't think they have enough to prevail agains whoever (KC) that will be.

I didn't hear anything about injuries when they bulldozed Minnesota two weeks ago. In fact the bye week of rest was supposed to have them ready to steamroll Washington
That was a shocking defensive performance from lions. Darnold simply collapsed under pressure. Injuries were always story of lions season. Bottom fell out completely when Alim McNeil and Carlton Davis got hurt. It is what it is. Lions weren’t some juggernaut team at season’s end.

oh?:jbhmm:

Cause for the past week you were talking like they were a juggernaut.

Best case scenario for lions. Avoid rematches with Rams and Vikings. Redskins defense wont hold up against Detroit

Lions have the best offense in NFL. Commanders have one of the worst run defenses in NFL. Lions have best RB tandem in NFL.If anyone is going to drain clock itll be the lions. Lions defense is as healthy as its going to be and they shutdown a good vikings offense completely last week.

Lions offense is too explosive for Redskins to match. Especially in run game. Defense is completely different with anzalone in there. If the defense is mediocre its a blow out

Lions 35
Commanders 21

Redskins defense was getting gashed by Gibbs. Goff imploded and gave wsh the ball 4 times and they still scored 31 pts. Bad coaching and bad QB play :yeshrug:

I said if defense was mediocre its a blowout and thats true. The defense was trash so:manny:

As far as Jayden being a rookie, then yes, it was major. Additionally, them coming from a 4 win season to this is wild too.

But given that really, Commanders won 12 games, should've been like 14 games with a healthy Jayden. But of course, some of those wins were hail marys too.
But people are tryna make it sound like it was the 9-7 Giants winning the SB with a 23 TD - 20 INT QB vs a 16-0 team with the goat.

One aspect people many people don't consider is that Lions impressive wins were vs Vikings and Green bay, perhaps those two teams arent that special when they play tough teams but really good vs mediocre defenses and 4 win teams. Meaning that it would be hard to play a Commanders team that played their best football.
