Huh?

You don't even know what you're talking about, the year before they got Shaq they lost to the Magic, they never had Mo Williams when they played the Celtics and took them to 7. The first time they played the Celtics with Mo Williams was LeBron's last year in Cleveland.

07/08 = 45-37 (Lost to the Celtics, No Mo Williams)
08-09 = 66-16 (Lost to the Magic - No Shaq)
09-10 = 61-21 (Lost to the Celtics)

They traded for Shaq so they could match up with the Magic. How you gonna argue about something like this and get some shyt like that so wrong.

I got the years confused.

But the year they got Shaq all I heard going into the playoffs was how the Cavaliers finally had the pieces to win a championship.

you know what's funny. i remember some people hyping up the Jamison trade too. at the time i was :dwillhuh: thinkin they had some information about him that i didn't. now........they act like they was never hype or thought he'd contribute.

YUP

People were going on and on about how the Cavs just got that much more dangerous. Though once Jamison started playing they dialed that shyt back. They were still favored to win that year though.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
I did get the Mo William years confused, but I knew they lost to the Magic the year they got Shaq, but what does that have to do with them being the favorites once they got Shaq?

Does acquiring Shaq make the Cavs favorites to win the NBA title in 2010? - NBCSports

They weren't favorites over the Lakers, they could have won a title, but they weren't favorites at all. And it would have taken an even more impressive playoff run from LeBron to do it.

Even before they lost to the Magic it was obvious they weren't a title favorite despite the 66-16 record because they kept losing to the elite teams.

What year was the Jamison trade?

Mo Williams was traded before the start of the 08-09 season.
Shaq was traded before the 09-10 season.
And they picked up Jamison during the trade deadline in 09-10.

Their best shot at a title was in 09-10, but Brown didn't play JJ Hickson in the playoffs and instead let Jamison guard KG, then he tried to defend KG with Shaq.

Bron was playin with some fukkin rejects. The Replacements type rejects :scusthov:

I know Cleveland sucks but, damn.....one of the top 2 players in the NBA couldn't convince NOBODY to come up there? Even Detroit & San Antonio gets FAs.

I'm not saying that I agree with them being favorites, I'm just saying that they were by a lot of people.

So I'm the only one that remembers everyone saying Cleveland needs to give LeBron a legit 2nd option if they're gonna make any serious noise? then there being speculation that they were gonna get Amare but it fell through because they didn't want to get rid of Hickson... And then finally they tried to appease Bron by bringing in wack ass Antawn Jamison and everyone said :what:

They COULD have won a title in 09-10, but it would have taken a better coach and LeBron would have had to been at an even higher level than he was at in these playoffs.

The Cavs matched up well with the Lakers, but it would have been the same problem the Thunder just had with the Heat, which is the Lakers had better two way players, while the Cavs had specialists surrounding 1 guy.

Eveything you said is true except you leaving out the part where they traded for Shaq and that deal was being treated as if Shaq was going to put the Cavs over the top.

no one in their right mind is taking a prime Kobe over a prime Lebron (which, we're not even sure we've seen yet) if they had a choice... at least not anyone that actually watches basketball and doesn't just look at the last column of the box score

I am, and so are a bunch of guys who get paid to play the game.

With that said, lebron is a legend.

If you take:

Talent + skill (how good/productive they are)
Individual success (individual numbers/accolades/records etc)
Leadership + intangibles (being "the guy", stepping up during pressure, making teammates better etc)
Competition/era (8 team league:comeon:)
Team success (wins/rings) into account...

MJ
Kareem
Magic
Bird
Wilt
Kobe
Shaq
Russell
Duncan
Bron

Hakeem had to go

If Bron stays consistent as far as stats and wins a few more rings/finals mvps, he'll be in top 3/GOAT arguments by time hes in his early 30s

So how dis Duncan and Russell end up ahead of Hakeem? Russell player in an era of white boys and duncans own teammates don't think he was as good as Hakeem. Hakeem was in a similar situation to bron in Cleveland....except Hakeem turns those teams into champions....and he beat all time great players who were in their primes and had superior teammates to do it.
