Republicans should feel betrayed by a conservative media that told them what they wanted to hear instead of what was happening.

The Republicans have lost two straight Presidencies and by embracing Fox, a network which legitimized the Tea Party at what is now looking like at the expense of the Republican party with candidates tying themselves to there wants, where does this leave those candidates and where does it leave Fox News whose demographic continues to gray?

The damage is done. They've given in to the farrr right for so long it's going to take a while to even re-brand themselves to other voting groups.

I've been using this :heh: smiley a lot

but to answer your question :heh:

Fox has the republican base right where they want them. For as much crap as we give CNN for playing both sides of the coin, Fox does this shyt EVERY TIME it blows up in their face. Folks need to remember, fox's main tagline is that they're "fair and balanced."

How did they execute that last night?

Who was the first media source to declare Barack Obama the winner of last nights election? What source then took their camera's downstairs to their war room to show you the "hard working" and "credible" sources crunching the numbers? Karl Rove was stumbling and "panicking." You really think Karl Rove, KARL ROVE, would get nervous because of county numbers from fukkn Ohio. Dude was counting and recounting like a 5yr old that lost a dime of their lunch money. All of this was done with smiles. All of this was done to establish transparency. All of this was done to eliminate bias.

And every media source quoted them as the go to lead when it was announced.

Get ahead of the story. Report it from the front, so it doesn't look like you're admitting defeat, but painting a picture of the events.

Hook.

Bait.
yeah i noticed that too. What's funny is EVERYONE knows what fox is (right wing media) so when they said Romney lost it was like having Romney's cheerleader tossing their pom poms in the bushes and having his daddy walk out the arena.

From a marketing standpoint it basically suckered in all the fox viewers even more because now they'll say, "see they ARE fair and balanced."

The GOP cannot get away from fox, it's that simple. Unless FOX changes...i don't see that happening they are making to much money.

You hit the nail on the head.

Fox looks lost today, in search of a new narrative.

it's amazing....Compare their "concern" about Bengahzi prior to the election and how much they're talking about it after the election results. :heh:

If I'm a Republican politician, I ignore that network and try to craft myself outside of their mandates.

yup.
the problem is they lose the GOP money AND will most likely have a GOP opposition candidate.

Voting as a block has power, but when your "head" is retarded it can be a hindrance.

The first republican to buck in a state they are popular in will get lots of good looks. Christy has that option open to him now...

The GOP is made up of a lot of semi-moderate folks and a few far right, both watch fox news. Fox news panders to the far right. GOP leadership panders to far right. They need to shake the far right.

FOX News is going to have ratings through the roof because all of the people who are pissed about Obama being re-elected are going to watch even more of the FOX NEWS programming. The best thing that could have happened to FOX is for Obama to win.

Exactly. Murdoch asked him to kiss the ring and he refused last night.

He's clearly looking ahead to twenty sixteen and is doing it smartly.

what'll be interesting is if he get's the GOP backing now...

The Old GOP just doesn't give any wiggle room. FFS they have a 3 party pledge on not raising taxes that get's hung over their head. The nuts are running the loony bin.

Demographics are changing. Fox needs to change it up.

I think the Old GOP was a lot more moderate (like Christie) than the new GOP which are much more hardlined.

They've got their followers so pumped full of fear and lies I'm not even sure it's possible. Fox's followers are at cult status.
