Republicans should feel betrayed by a conservative media that told them what they wanted to hear instead of what was happening.

The Republicans have lost two straight Presidencies and by embracing Fox, a network which legitimized the Tea Party at what is now looking like at the expense of the Republican party with candidates tying themselves to there wants, where does this leave those candidates and where does it leave Fox News whose demographic continues to gray?

I said that last night... Fox News is what helped put them in that bubble that they've been in and now they've seen that the rest of the country isn't about any of that bullshyt that they spew... they don't have that luxury anymore.

I think that the conservative news media ignored the idea that demographically, America is becoming a darker more diverse nation. You can no longer win an election catering to the wealthy and white males primarily. Even Bush Jr. made an effort to bring those people and keep them in the fold. Really Repubicans in general need to rebrand themselves.

Basically its time for the south to join the 21st century. Give up the abortion fight, its over. Lean on Rubio's plan for immigration reform and continue to push fiscal conservatism/smaller government....that's what resonates.

Even though Romney wasnt nearly socially evil as people tried to paint him...there are some scary beliefs people still hold and they associate him with them. Fair or not...the party needs to move away from those folks. They lost a seat in the senate because of Akin's ego.

How do they do that when the House is stuffed with tea party extremists?

The problem is that the House is "local" and no matter how much people dislike congress overall, people are going to love their local congressmen. Along with the Republican redistricting efforts ensuring the house will remain Red the next ten years, that ideology isn't going anywhere.

I think Chris Christie saw the light last week. He's running in 16'.

People are overrating Christie seeing the light...he's never been a loon. He was trying to look as presidential as possible but his beliefs are vastly different than Obama's economically. Christie needs to get the lap band if he really wants to run. He's too fat.

He's seen the light as far as not being a Fox news windbag.

I know he's not a loon, trust me, I live in the state he runs and know about his economic policies. But he had no problem with NOT kissing the ring. Murdoch asked him to RE-endorse Romney last week and he refused.

He gets it.

Fox news reminds me of that old fairy tale "The Emperor's New Clothes".
Fox kept saying how great the Republican position was and how strong their prospects are.

then some kid steps out of the crowd (the election) and says "yo, you guys are naked".

Fox has them thinking that America is on the tea party side and obama win was a fluke because of bush. 2010 helped them with this idea. Reality now just hit them in the face. Pass immigration reform within the next year or 2016 will be a disaster
