6. Big Daddy Kane
7. Andre 3000
8. Mos Def
9. Ice Cube
10. Q-Tip

11. Black Thought
12. Scarface
13. Prodigy
14. Kool G Rap
15. Rakim

16. Talib Kweli
17. Eminem
18. Pharoahe Monch

hey homie...not knocking your list, its pretty good, but like people tend to underrate the old greats....KRS-One is way too low for me. I mean you are talking about pioneering, battling, taking real hip-hop to a larger base. If you came up in his era, his impact was indelible. I tend to rate guys like him, Ra, KGR a little higher because of how they advanced certain eras of hip hop....their impact was far greater than sales. Good list though.

I would say Meth is definitely in my top 15 all time. He never really made the album most people wanted, but he left a great imprint on the game. When I think of hip hop I think of Method Man...he just oozes the culture and what it was built on. Let's hope we get Crystal Meth either this year or next year.

Also feel free to give thoughts on guys you think are underrated that might be in your top 15-20.

Few more names to throw out there....

Scarface
Black Thought
Redman
Busta Rhymes
Ghostface Killah

Scarface is in my top 25, I think he would be that in a more objective list.

Black Thought is a technically perfect MC, but I'll admit I gotta be in a certain mood to listen to him at extended length. He belongs in the top 25 as well.

Redman is my personal favorite rapper and his resume arguably keeps him no lower than 10-12.

Busta is a great rapper but he's barely top 50.

GFK is in my personal top 10 and I think he will and up in the top 15 all time when said and done.

Pharoahe Monch > Black Thought

Organized Konfusion > The Roots

I agree with the Pharoah Monch,

But while the 1st Organized Konfusion album is my personal favorite hip-hop album of all time, the Roots discography is too prolific to put them in a position under OK. In other words I think the Roots as a collective are greater than Black Thoughts individual contributions, imo. But interesting comparison as they kinda are from the same mould.

Oh yea, While Meth is outside my top 25, I do feel dude has been underappreciated as a lyricist, as over time, Ghostface, Raekwon, and to some extent GZA have surpassed him in terms of being prolific.

The second OK album is as good or better than the first and both are much better than The Roots entire existence.

The Roots are benefitting from just kinda always being there dropping above average stuff. They've never owned a year. They've never even owned their own stuffy little lane.
