The problem I have with these rankings is we are comparing different styles in some cases, I mean how do you even go about doing that?

If we are basing this shyt off pure lyrics/wordplay I can see arguments for Eminem being top 15 but then you have to think about can you even relate to a lot of his songs and are you a fan of "serial killer rap"?

There's too many factors at play. When I see a great artist I know it.. but I can't produce actual rankings. Way too subjective.

oh no? i'll concede Em because of his indelible imprint on music in general but BT is somewhere arm wrestling with the Ras Kass' & Mos Def's of the world. He is hardly a legend at all. Meth was arguably the most popular MC in the game at one point.

Scarface would be top 15 to me. Not sure about Meth even though I'm a big fan, he would be somehwhere, just not sure quite where.

I would say Meth is definitely in my top 15 all time. He never really made the album most people wanted, but he left a great imprint on the game. When I think of hip hop I think of Method Man...he just oozes the culture and what it was built on. Let's hope we get Crystal Meth either this year or next year.

Scarface is in my personal top 10, the best southern hip hop artist ever. The rest of those emcees including Meth are somewhere scattered in my top 50(if I ever made one).

Meth has a dope flow. He is one of those rappers that I don't get bored listening to. I just wish he had more top notch production.

I dont understand...are you talking lyrically or purely as an artist? Hip Hop is broad, so there are just different types. So personally, he falls back a ways to me. Somewhere between 30-50. I dont feel he is better in any way than Black Thought though. His partnership with Redman and a lot of Erick Sermon production definitely bolstered his catalogue and gave him some longevity as an artist.
